@ Mark’s Friend – respect, glad I had some in your camp. I’ve always thought Seattle was a friendly place to live. When I moved to LA I couldn’t meet anyone…………….there were clicks from the Junior Highs all the way up to the 50 – 60 year olds…….friendship was determined by the benefits a friend could bring and that is no friendship to me.

Sorta reminded me of the Real Housewives of New York/New Jersey shows. Sad.

Gotta sign off for a few days……………heading back to LA for a short-term assignment.

You’re losing any respect I had for you SSSL, et. al.
Ahow still has my blessing, for whatever that means…

Seattle has for many years had the reputation for being a cold place to move, unless you brought your friends with you. If we really wanted it to be better, we would walk next door and shake hands / hug our neighbors. Jewish neighbors, Japanese neighbors, Black neighbors, White neighbors, Gay neighbors, Hispanic neighbors, etc…

But don’t knock on my door. I hate all the neighbors.

@ Ahow – I’m surprised you doubted me after all these months of constructive dialog. And, Mark B. is right, his son was released within the last year from the Federal Pennitentiary for Racketeering charges…….my guess is he, at the very least, started getting his degree in jail. Still, I have to give him credit and hope he turns his life around. But we digress.

@ Lovely, Mark B is right, it is enevitable the shooters will eventually hit an innocent victim or their intended targets who might not be very innocent. These behaviors cannot be tolerated and the mother, if she loves them, should take action now.

@ Anonymous – I’m still ticked off the Mayor found a way to entice Amazon to move out of SE Seattle……..

On another note, has anybody heard if there is going to be a light rail protest to stop the train opening day? I’d read suggestions in the blogs and people talked about it but that was the last I’d heard.

It is still 2 shootings in 2 nights if you dropped it to 1 every 2 nights it is still 15 shootings a month comes to 180 a year. I know this will not be the case but it is not a good start. I f they are hanging tough like that in front of that house someone there will be shot or killed there very soon. I hate to say it but it is probably a safe bet.

To follow up I can asure you that the mother I mentioned is a good friend of mine! She knows how I feel and has told me she feels powerless- not over her own kids but she has been feeling or acting powerless over her sons extended network of friends. She told me she feels she has done all she can but the trouble makers hang out anyways.
I am not one to contact a landlord etc… This is a woman who told me she is sick of feeling she is being blamed as the mother of gangmembers for her sons friends and what happens when they hang out on our Block.

All I can say is that she really needs to get her sons committed to the idea that they will be out of housing very soon if they dont demand that there freinds hang out elsewhere. And trust me she is scared for herself like everyone else.
How can we help?? Support the positive, address the negative and thank the police for patroling. We all feel happy to see them now doing extra patrols.

You appear to be correct. Mayor’s site brags on many things. Lowest crime rate in 39 years still there. blahblah. One of his one or two accomplishments per year includes approving the monorail. ha. And oh, his kid just got an advanced degree in econ. Suppose we should feel better about that. Perhaps some reverse osmosis in his family will help our local economy. or something.
