A man was injured by flying glass last night when multiple shots were fired into the window of his home in the 6300 block of South Bangor Street in upper Rainier Beach.

According to police:

One of the occupants inside observed three black males outside the residence, putting bandannas over their faces prior to the shooting. Other witnesses/neighbors reported seeing a beige or tan older model Buick four-door leaving east on South Bangor Street following the shots.

Officers recovered numerous shell casings in the street directly in front of the victims’ residence as well as a spent round  inside a sofa cushion below the window where most of the shots were fired into.

An area manhunt was unsuccessful and SPD reported no arrests. The Gang Unit coordinated with officers on scene. This is an active investigation.

In an unrelated incident, South Precinct officers responded to a call of a gunshot victim in the 6200 block of Corson Avenue South yesterday at 2:25 am:

The victim, a 48 year old male, walked into a gas station and stated that he had been shot in the arm. Officers responded, but the victim was uncooperative with them, refusing to state how he got shot or any of the people involved. He would not tell officers where the shooting had occurred.

Seattle Fire Department responded and transported the victim to Harborview Medical Center for treatment of his non life-threatening injury.

Officers conducted an area search hoping to find a crime scene, but did not. There were no other reports of shootings in the area.

Correction… the home is located in Upper Rainier Beach, near the corner of Bangor & Renton Av.e South.

It is really disturbing to know that this has happened…people just continue to be out of control.

There was also a shooting last evening outside the gas station at Othello and Rainier around 10 to 11 pm. 5 shots and then the cars scattered according to a man who had been in the convenience store at the time. I phoned 911 and came out and saw one of the cars, which drove up Othello, then south on 48th. It was an older model tan car, I thought a Chevy, but could have been something else, so this could be related to the shooting in Rainier Beach.
