With construction at the The Pontedera – an affordable condominium project located at South Dearborn and Hiawatha Place South – nearly 70% completed, its on-site sales office is open for business.
Developed by HomeSight, the development is the only one so far to offer the city’s 12-year property tax exemption; available to buyers of one-bedroom units earning up to 100% of median income or up to 120% for two- and three-bedroom units.
The condos are priced for first-time homebuyers who typically earn less than 80% of the area’s median income, and are slated for occupancy in 2010. More info.

Is this an advertisement or are you just being nice to them?
“Is this an advertisement or are you just being nice to them?”
Hi Graham St. Thanks for asking. The answer is neither.
We will always tell you when we’re running an advertisement. I just found it noteworthy and thought readers might, too, since we hadn’t yet mentioned the new development.
Incidentally, I’m curious to know if anyone’s tried Rice ‘n Roll…?
“Incidentally, I’m curious to know if anyone’s tried Rice ‘n Roll…?”
It’s alright. I have only been there once.
I have to say that I much rather have the Stan’s burger joint…I’m just sayin….
We really need a good burger joint down here.
A good burger joint would be nice, kind of off topic but I saw the owner of Ezell’s looking at the old Wildwood Tavern location.
And you’re just NOW revealing that juicy little tidbit to your RVP? Some bedrock you are! J/K
Ezell’s. Wow. That would be f@#$%ing awesome…
I did tell you, I just saw him, told him I would be there religiously.
It would be F@#%ing awesome.
Another cheaply built, ugly looking building.
Thanks Mayor Nickels!!!
Yes, I prefer Stans over the Rice n Roll too.

Verve Wine Bar and Bistro in Columbia City has an amazing, out-of-this-world organic beef burger called the “Verve Burger.”
You will not be disappointed. It’s the best burger I have ever had in the Pacific Northwest. In fact, the chef there is very good with everything else, too.

Seattle and King County (and several other WA areas) have approved and aligned themselves with this agenda already. This is accomplished by exploiting people’s desire to maintain a healthy and lasting environment in the name of “sustainability.”
That sounds awesome, Tim! Thanks so much. I will have to sink my teeth into one of those “amazing, out-of-this-world organic beef burgers” very soon!
I went to Verve on Saturday because I had read here that they did breakfast. Got there at Nine, not open til Ten. To me “organic” seems to mean half the taste at twice the price, or half the amount at twice the price.
MarkB,
IMO, what one saves not buying organic is what one will spend 100 times over on medical costs in the future.
