It was just four days ago that two Rainier Beach neighbors were injured and 150 temporarily displaced when their apartment building – the Henderson Arms in the 4800 block of Henderson Avenue South – caught fire.

According to Seattle Fire Department (SFD), some bedding that was too close to a baseboard heater ignited, destroyed three of the 30 units in the complex and caused $200,000 in damage.

This morning, the same building caught fire again.

SFD spokeswoman Dana Vander Houwen told KIRO Radio that flames burned another third-floor unit several doors away from where Thursday’s fire started. No one was injured today, and fire officials are investigating the cause.

The blaze was reported in a series of 911 calls just after 8 am. No one was inside the apartment, and residents on lower floors were able to get out safely. Firefighters put it out in about 40 minutes.

Last week’s fire at the Henderson Arms in Rainier Beach injured two people, dtemporarily displaced 150 and caused $200,000 in damage. Today’s fire remains under investigation. Photo/do communications, inc.

If anyone reading does not have renter’s insurance, GO AND GET RENTER’S INSURANCE TODAY!!

I have known at least two people who have lost their belongings due to apartment fires but had no insurance. It is not expensive. No, I am not an insurance salesman.

I second that advice and I don’t sell insurance either.

If you have auto, life or another type of insurance, sometimes the multi-line discount can actually make renter’s insurance free for you. It can work like this – I was paying $100/mo for auto, renter’s was $10/mo, and when I signed up I got a 10% discount on my auto, making my total out-of-pocket $99.
