Police are investigating what appear to be racially motivated incidents against a black man in Seward Park who had his car vandalized and a note left with a racial slur telling him to move.
Earlier this month, someone dumped white yogurt on the man’s car and wrote a disparaging phrase with two expletives. He also told police he’d received annoying phone calls from a restricted phone number – enough to make him change his number.
Tuesday morning between his vehicles on South Dawson Street, he found a note that included a racial slur and told him to move. Read more.

Ohno that’s so sad, so wrong. It hurts to read of this happening. I can not begin to imagine what this poor man is feeling. This is not the south. This is not the 50s or 60s. My mind is boggled.
Racism happens from all corners. White on black, black on white, Asian on white, etc. I’ve even seen white on white racism in the South End, and white lesbian (we have a lot of them in the south end) on straight white male discrimination, and things 0f that sort. So sympathies go out to all.
Ignorance causes fear which causes violence. Reach out across the great divide and illuminate the darkness of ignorance.
