For all those south-end moms on a budget whose kids look more fashionable than you do – your day has come. No more shopping at Sweet Pea’s for the kids wondering why you’ve got to schlep all the way to Capitol Hill for the adult equivalent, because Columbia City has a new consignment shop strictly for grown-ups and it’s just fabulous.

Megan McCabe and her husband Dan Walter feature contemporary women’s clothing, jewelry and accessories in quality condition. They also take small furniture pieces and distinctive home decor items. Sellers can choose to receive 40% of total sales in the form of a check or 50% in-store credit. It’s always a good idea to call ahead if you plan to bring something in for consideration as the store can get busy.

“Business has been great,” said Megan. “Better than we expected. People have brought in some great stuff.”

The new Gather opened its doors three weeks ago, just a month after the old Gather – a funky little art gallery owned and operated by Jenn Jones - closed. Columbia City neighbors Megan and Dan are friends with Jenn, loved the Gather look and concept, and were looking for something to do, and – voila! – the rest is history.

Gather is located at 4863 Rainier Avenue South in Columbia City and it’ true – thanks to Megan’s stylish talents – even the loo is lovely. Photos/do communications, inc.

Already been in and agree—Megan and Dan have some great stuff. I plan on checking them out every time I’m in CC. Let’s keep them in business folks!

And… gentrification is complete (save for Angie’s, keep holdin’ out baby!). Sounds precious, I wish them all the success they can find!

Yeah, when moms on a budget can shop for used clothes, you know your neighborhood has really arrived!
