A man learned the hard way this morning that it’s not nice to kick in a woman’s door in the middle of the night.
According to police, it was around 2 am Tuesday when the suspect first attempted to enter the victim’s apartment in the 7400 block of Rainer Avenue South with a key. When that didn’t work, he kicked the door open.
As he entered the apartment, the victim – afraid for her life – stabbed him in the shoulder. Then, when he took off, she followed.
Responding officers arrived and rescued the suspect from his victim.
The suspect was arrested and transported to Harborview Medical Center in satisfactory condition. He was later booked into King County Jail for Investigation of Burglary.
The victim was not injured.

who is that woman! SHe sounds fantastic!! Great story, thanks for the good news.
Now she may live in fear of retribution for the rest of her life. Maybe she should have stabbed him where it counts.
Does anyone know if the suspect knew the victim? Or if it was a random break-in?
Glad she did what she could to protect herself. Generally, I think it’s difficult to think rationally in a situation like this and the likelihood is that one would just act/react… Your response would certainly vary if you knew the person.
That is scary, but probably the funniest opening line to a story I’ve read in a while. I guess that depends on the situation, Editor.
Anyway I have to say I don’t think I’d be contemplating anything other than disabling someone whether I knew them or not. And man, if I had kids in there…Don’t know what I’d be willing to do but “where it counts” is an understatement. Anyway, glad she’s okay and hope she stays that way.
Enjoyed reading about this strong woman in Rainier Valley – you go othello girl!
And in other news – check out what happened at MLK and South Myrtle last Wed at 4pm.

The link above to the seattlepi story for the driver/offender that needs more than anger mgmt classes is very scary!
Wow!!! Wonder Woman lives. That was very brave of her and I applaud her actions. I disagree with some of the commentators on the Times who wrote she should have used a gun and killed him.
One comment made sense. He/she wrote that at 2 am, it could be that the guy had the wrong apartment or house since he was trying to use a key. Even so, kicking in the door in a rage is no excuse and he got what he deserved.
That’s why I would never want to live in one of those communities where every place looks the same, come home buzzed get stabbed.
Unrelated — anyone know why columbian is closed at mlk? Horrendous traffic.
I saw a ton of fire vehicles, but no crash.
Maybe a gas leak or something?
yep – gas leak. will lyk if we get more info.
“Wow!!! Wonder Woman lives. ”
I do agree to the point where she chased after him, if she would have killed him outside of her apartment that is murder, manslaughter at the least and that’s if her lawyer is dating the judge. I hope there is a follow up to this to determine if he actually lived in the building and was just buzzed, then it’s not so glamorous. If he didn’t live in the building F@#K him and feed him fish heads.
This story makes me all warm and fuzzy. :p
See you on the streets, especially if you are being chased by an angry woman with a bloody butcher knife!
South Seattle Cop, I’ve posted before I have doubts if you’re a real cop, and after reading the above, I’m really curious. If you are, you have a terrific sense of humor. If you aren’t, you still have a wild sense of humor
