I want to know how I can get a dumpster removed from the For-Lease business space at the NE corner of Rainier and S Findlay. Dumpster sits basically on the sidewalk on the south side of Findlay and attracts some handy folks who like to dump their trash off on the sidewalk weekly (old tv’s, car seats, baby strollers, shelving units….you name it)
maybe call the city to report illegal dumping?
Litter – Illegal dumping 206-684-7587
anyone know what happened at the Highschool Tue night? I heard there were cops and an ambulance and some kind of fight.
Been there, done that and they don’t enforce anything however it seems the city may clean it up after a few weeks go by. It just happens again and again….
Call the city and tell them it is interfering with your bike riding, that should do it.
I was at Rainier Ave. So. and So. Genesee st. where it looks like they might be doing another “road diet” and the no parking signs say 8/9 to 10/15 does it really take 9 weeks to do 1 block? They might just have those dates written on them and plan to move them as they go but I have not seen a difference in the few days they have been there.
Our city is out of control, with moving the police to Bell town on the weekends, to turning Rainier Avenue into bike lanes. Give me a break, not real safe to be riding bikes on Rainier. Our city council and the Mayor need to be checked!
I find the huge BUX 4 GOLD ad disturbing.
My neighbor heard that the mayor wants to end the bike weekends – this is terrible since we have SPD cut from our area, …and now they want to stop bike weekends! People should call the mayor and your “council members”.
McGinn is going to be at the upcoming Central Precinct Crime Meeting – lets go and give him what for! Read SSC’s recent post on how our precinct is being stripped of officers on weekends to make McGinn look good in Belltown. Meanwhile…. back in Gotham City
The question to me is whether the present Belltown situation is an anomaly or do the configuration and characteristics of the Belltown development ultimately determine or at least have a great influence on the type of place it has become? I suspect it’s the latter. Hopefully we aren’t creating more Belltown’s along Rainier Avenue.
Either way we’ll need more police for it to be a civil place.
Really, bike lanes on Rainier?? Give me a link to more info! Woo hoo! A flat route to parts North! I love it!
I bet you don’t see them riding 3 abreast on Rainier Ave. like they do on Seward Park Ave., actually I don’t think I’ve seen 3 bikes in a day on Rainier unless it was the bike police.
it’s all just going to make Rainier Avenue a nightmare just like MLK is.
Everyone is going to get stuck behind a bus. That doesn’t sound like progress to me…..
