A Mt. Baker-area man has been charged with raising roosters at his home for cockfighting.

From the Seattle Times (RVP news partner):

Guillermo Sijera, who lives in the 3800 block of Renton Avenue South, was charged Friday with felony animal fighting. In 2001, Sijera was convicted in Skagit County of a similar charge stemming from his involvement in cockfighting there, according to charging papers filed in King County Superior Court. More.

Last month, a Mt. Baker neighbor reported “an annoyingly loud rooster” near 33rd Avenue South and South Horton Street (B), which – as the rooster flies – is less than a half-mile from the alleged cockfighting operation (A). Photo/do communications, inc.
