Shortly before 1 am this morning, a Mt. Baker neighbor says that two men entered his home through a second-floor window and assaulted him before ransacking the place and fleeing into the night.
Officers responded to 1900 block of 31st Avenue South and searched the area without success.
The victim was transported to Harborview Medical Center with head injuries.
The suspects are described as two black males, wearing brown jackets and pants.

Saw the crime scene van on the premises this AM. That’s a brazen attack on a well lit street. Lordy.
Crap, this kind of shit seems to be getting more and more brazen and scary. I’d hate to have to lock all my second-story windows at night.
“I’d hate to have to lock all my second-story windows at night.”
You don’t already?
Leaving 2nd floor windows open is a must when the weather is hot at night, and these burglars appear very opportunistic that way. Sounds like I need to figure out a way to boobytrap my windows. Guillotine or electric shock or ??? I’ll make sure to install a video camera so I can post the results on YouTube.
Mark… it is f-in hot up in my room, I need the window open.
Maybe we should get that Home Alone kid to run a workshop for us. Plan B, get me a laser cat.

Good stuff, It is a bit hot isn’t it. If you can breed a laser cat with a BJJ pit bull I want one.
Time to buy a shotgun…….or at least an alarm that sounds like one being locked and loaded.
SSSL
I think I need to start letting the dog sleep upstairs in our room!
We have five cats—none, unfortunately, with lasers.
Is Washington State a Make My Day state?
Does anyone know if an arrest was made in this case?
I live in the Lakeridge area, and while at work on Monday (7/20) my house was burglarized. I had left a upper story window open due to the heat, and that is how they got in. The week before I was out of town, and my friend who was housesitting saw 2 young men (boys) “casing” the house (they were looking in windows) and they ran away when they saw that someone was in the house.
A couple of weeks before, the same thing happened to a neighbor down the block.
So, do beware! My insurance company said that burglaries have been up since around the 4th of July, probably due to the weather and unlocked windows.
