From Candace Oehler:
On Saturday, June 27, my car was vandalized in broad daylight while parked in the south lot of Jefferson Park Golf Course (directly across the the first green of the short 9 course). The rear passenger door glass was shattered and items stolen.
As it turns out, another car suffered a similar fate that same day.
A golf course staffer told me that cars had also been vandalized the previous weekend. The police officer who took my report mentioned a number of recent car break-ins.
It’s really hard to fathom how somebody was able to accomplish not just one, but two smash & grabs in the middle of the day in a highly-trafficked parking lot right on Beacon Avenue.
I would like to know what Premier Golf plans to do about the situation – signage notifying patrons of the risk, staff presence in the lots? As a long-time Jefferson supporter, I think it would be unfortunate for the course to lose patrons who do not feel safe parking there.
And – if anybody finds a Saucony tennis shoe (right foot) with a plastic insert, please let me know!!!

Probably just raise the greens fees again.
Don’t leave anything (“items stolen”) visible in your car. Then your window won’t be broken by a thief.
It takes about 5 seconds to step out of a vehicle, peer inside, smash the glass, open the door, grab what’s inside, hop back into your car and drive away. And breaking glass, surprisingly, doesn’t make much noise (assuming a hard, pointed object is pressed into the glass rather than attacking it with a baseball bat). It’ll crack and fall into bits, but that’s about it.
Because these guys are in a hurry, leaving anything inside the car is upping your chances of an opportunistic smash and grab; what’s really a shoe may look like a small purse, etc.
