The Brighton – a low and moderate-income senior housing facility in the Rainier Valley – needs volunteers to help neighborhood seniors with a wide variety of housekeeping tasks, including cleaning, organizing, dumping and moving furniture during the Brighton’s own Day of Caring on Sat., Feb. 21.

Day of Caring originated as a United Way volunteer effort designed to kick off the organization’s massive annual campaign every September. Among other things, objectives include involving people in first-hand experience with area charities, raising awareness of community needs and services and affording neighbors an opportunity to work together and get to know one another.

For more information about The Brighton’s Day of Caring, call Deb at (206) 722-3922.

Owned and operated by the Southeast Seattle Senior Foundation, The Brighton’s 124 bright, spacious, and accessible apartments are located in a park-like setting with free parking, close to public transportation with access to the activities and programs at the Southeast Seattle Senior Center.
