The Rainier Valley Post – in partnership with the Rainier Chamber of Commerce, SEEDArts and the Seattle Department of Transportation (SDOT) – is thrilled to announce the winners of the 2009 Rainier Valley Heritage Parade & Summer Streets Coloring Contest!
More than 60 local children of all ages participated by illustrating their answer to the question: “What do you like best about the Rainier Valley?”
From the pool of entries, the following three were selected to receive two free passes to Columbia City Cinema (RVP sponsor) and a free pizza from Tutta Bella:
- “See You At The Movies” by Cliodhna Dill, 14
- “The Flower Garden” by Mina Ellen, 6
- “Little Tiny Wagon” by Annika Ragan, 3
Congratulations, young neighbors!

It looks like you really added lots more pictures to the posts, and every story is better for that. Excellent.
Stop by the Rainier Chamber office, corner of Rainier and 42nd to see all the entries for this contest. They will be posted in the windows that you see in the photo until the end of next week.
Special thanks to Abbey Norris at SEEDArts for creating the contest.
