A message from one of our newest sponsors:

Friends and neighbors,

Happy New Year from Hillman City Business Association (HCBA)!

We’d like to take this opportunity to thank everyone that has helped out with our projects and events over the last year. We count you our friend and look forward to a long and fruitful relationship.

Specifically, we want to personally thank all HCBA members (see list below).

We especially want to thank the following members for their generosity in support of HCBA operations:

Last year we applied for and received more than $27,000 in grants from Seattle’s Office of Economic Development (OED) and Department of Neighborhoods (DON), including a King County Community Organizing Grant, approximately $5,000 in cash donations and $3,000 in product donations.

In addition, HCBA applied to the City’s Neighborhood Street Fund Program and our project was approved! Look forward to sidewalk repairs and the installation of pedestrian lighting in the business district during 2009!

This year we have exciting events and projects planned as well. Come out for our next meeting on Thur., Jan. 15, at 6 pm at Rainier Avenue Church (5900 Rainier Av S; corner of Rainier and Juneau). We have Metro representative Sarah Luthens coming to share how Metro has integrated our concerns into planned changes to bus service effecting Hillman City. Also, we’ll review our new press kit – a product of our OED grant, and begin planning Town Hall coming to Hillman City on Sat., Feb. 21.

Again, we thank our friends and communities for assistance, support and good wishes to and for HCBA! And as always, wishing you the very best.
