Gusty Winds Cause Huge South-End Power Outage

Gusty winds kicked up again late Wednesday, causing scattered power outages across the Puget Sound region, most the result of downed tree limbs. And high winds — with gusts up to 40 mph — are expected to continue through Thursday afternoon.

One of the largest reported outages was in Seattle’s Rainier Valley area, where an outage impacting up to 4,600 customers caused delays in Sound Transit’s light-rail service between downtown Seattle and Tukwila.

Sound Transit released an alert just after 6:30 p.m. Wednesday that light-rail service would be operating with delays due to the outage on Martin Luther King Jr. Way South. But light-rail service was not suspended. Read more.

Yeah, this is the part where they buried power lines for half the route but left them on poles from what, Othello south?
Good thing we don’t get that many power outages!
