Farmers Market Coming to Two South-End Schools

April 7, 2009

in Education,News

broccoliSome south-end elementary students and families are about to take a trip to the farmers market without leaving their school.

This month, the Eat Better, Feel Better program is hosting Family Farmers Market Nights at two Beacon Hill elementary schools: Maple and Van Asselt.

The goal is to present an  opportunity for students and their families to gather for an evening of great food, nutrition education, planting, shopping, and math. Students will practice their math skills by using play money to purchase real produce. At the end of the night, each family will go home with a bag full of fresh fruits and vegetables to enjoy.

I checked the RVP’s calendar and it says Van Asselt on the 30th of April.
