I heard that Cafe Vita near the PCC is doing a food drive for the Food Bank. Drop of canned goods, etc. there.

I wonder what they will do with all that perishable food? I have a small hope that it will in some way get distributed to people who need it but this is probably being way, way too idealistic.

This is so sad. I usually ride the 7 on Saturday and it’s filled with people going to or from the food bank. They’re old and poor and the food they receive is a godsend to them. I’ve heard recipients talk amongst themselves about what food they got that day and others on their way, asking what’s available. I’m impressed with the food given to them and now I’m outraged that some SOB would dare rob that place. I don’t usually wish ill on others, but I hope they choke on a turkey bone.

Btw, Laurel, you’re a piece of work. Ghetto rats, huh? Speak for yourself.

It makes me feel so sad knowing the desperation of the individual(s) who stole food from the food bank, but also anger that they put themselves first in front of 10,000 needy RVFB clients. I’m totally donating on their website.
