Last Wednesday was a bad day for south-end burglars.
First, a Beacon Hill neighbor in the 7800 block of 32nd Avenue South was taking an afternoon nap when he awoke at about 1:40 pm to find three young men in his home.
According to police, one of the suspects was carrying the victim’s XBOX 360. When the suspects saw the victim, they dropped the property and ran from the house, but the victim gave chase, caught one of the suspects and returned him to the house, where officers arrived and took the suspect into custody. He was later booked into Youth Service Center for Investigation of burglary. The other two suspects remain at large.
Later that evening at about 5:4o pm, a woman was working in her office at the African American Museum in Mt. Baker, when she heard a window breaking in the room next to her office. She called 911, and officers arrived to find a man stuck in a window on the north side of the building. The suspect had dropped his belongings inside the window but could not get further inside or back out of the window.
According to police, officers helped remove the suspect from the window, took him into custody and subsequently booked him into King County Jail for Investigation of Burglary.
